I will be working as the Ohio Proud intern for a ten week period throughout the winter. The Ohio Proud program is a marketing program initiative designed by the Ohio Department of Agriculture. The primary focus of the program is to promote All-Ohio grown and Ohio made products. The program started back in 1996 and recently a new promotional campaign was launched to promote the program to its full potential. The Ohio Proud program also has a mobile kitchen which promotes Ohio products throughout Ohio through cooking demonstrations and informing Ohioans of the need to buy local.
I started my first day of work on November 12, 2009. The day basically consisted of getting acquainted with the office and filling out a bunch of paper work. The office is well organized and overall is pretty spacious. The people in the office are really nice to work with and seem to like there jobs.
I work closely with Lori Panda who heads the Ohio Proud program and makes sure the companies in the program benefit to there full potential from being a member of Ohio Proud. I will work on marketing campaign's, promoting the program, stay in contact with the members and any other jobs which come my way as the Ohio Proud intern.
I am looking forward to learning about the program and how it functions as well as getting first hand knowledge in a working environment.
